The tragic incident of Grade 9 student Thenuka Dhanuja Rupasinghe of the Hunumulla CWW Kannangara National School lying in the ICU of the National Hospital, Colombo after being felled by a coconut tree in the school premises on June 23 has not only left the child’s parents and little sister in distress as doctors battle to save his life.
Thanuja’s terrible fate has left his parents struggling to find the necessary financial resources to tide such a calamity as his parents have done odd jobs to keep the family going.
In the circumstances, Thenuka’s parents have appealed for public support to save their son’s life.
